They are the two-word form of verbs like to read, to watch, to call etc. Split Infinitives happens when you place an adverb between TO and A Verb.

Example –

 

• She used to diligently teach him.
• You have to really write a book.

3. Do not Use THAT Referring A Person –

• “THAT” is used for referring objects.
• “Who or Whom” is used for referring individuals.

 

Using THAT instead of WHO/WHOM means insulting them.

• Kusum is the one THAT rescued the Doggy. (Incorrect)
• Kusum is the one who rescued the Doggy. (Correct)

 

4. Adding “ed” to verbs –

When it comes to writing something happened in the past, you need to add “ED” to regular verbs. The verb having ED in the end highlights that something occurred in the past is talking about.

Example –

 

• Stop – Stopped
• Target – Targeted

 

But this rule does not go with all verbs and that is why you need to expand the aura of knowledge.

Example –

 

• Drink – Drinked (Wrong)
• Drink – Drank (correct)
